THE MISSION
Safespace is a mental health application that helps university students access emotional support anytime, especially when traditional services are unavailable. It combines two core components: an AI-guided journaling tool that supports students between therapy sessions and a peer support system that nudges students to connect with people they trust when they need help.
The AI doesn’t rely on open-ended language models but uses an information retrieval system guided by expert-reviewed content, giving universities control and oversight. We help students feel heard and connected while also supporting overwhelmed counseling centers. By addressing mild to moderate symptoms early, we reduce emotional isolation and help prevent crises before they escalate.
“The Talent Kick program helped us connect with driven, like-minded individuals across disciplines and provided a structured environment to test our team dynamics early. Through its coaching, peer feedback, and milestone challenges, we gained clarity on our roles, strengthened our collaboration, and built the foundation of a resilient and mission-aligned team.”
