THE MISSION
Lumova is building a plug-and-play exergame system to help older adults maintain mobility, balance, and cognitive function, using nothing more than a webcam and simple, scientifically grounded movement games.
In many care homes and geriatric settings, older adults struggle to stay physically and mentally active. Limited staff and a lack of engaging tools mean that preventive training is often inconsistent or not accessible without a therapist. We’re changing that by offering a low-barrier, gamified training system that works out-of-the-box and adapts to the user, making regular cognitive-motor training easier, more fun, and more scalable.
We’re developing and evaluating our solution in close collaboration with the Motor Control & Learning Lab at ETH, which has also spun off Dividat, a well-known exergame company in this space. This collaboration ensures our product is grounded in scientific evidence and designed for real-world impact.
"Talent Kick gave us the momentum to turn our ideas into action and the freedom to challenge them. Through coaching, honest reflection, and validation sprints, we were able to question assumptions, reframe our direction, and pivot toward a use case where we can create the biggest impact.
The individual coaching sessions gave us space to reflect on what truly matters: in how we work, what drives us, and how we want to grow. These lessons will stay with us far beyond the Talent Kick program."
