Rare Earth Elements are vital to modern technologies and society, from cell phones to energy-saving lamps, wind turbines and electric car batteries. To meet the current energy transition goals to mitigate climate change, the demand for these elements is skyrocketing. But only a few key players like China control the market and their mining has a disastrous societal and environmental impact. This is why they have been classified by the International Energy Agency as critical minerals. Despite these facts, less than 1% of REE are currently being recycled from end-of-life products, with the rest being dumped in landfills and contributing to the global e-waste pollution problem. This is mainly caused by the fact that REEs are only found in small quantities in electronics, and are often blended together and with other metals. REEcover take advantage of a unique patented technology which allows these elements to be recovered from electronic waste. Their first proof of concept concerns the recycling of Europium and Yttrium from energy saving lamps, with a separation factor 10 times superior to existing technologies. They are currently developing their process to scale up the recycling and extend it to different REEs, such as Neodymium and Dysprosium which are found in magnets, while keeping sustainability and circularity their north star.

JOSEPHA is a shopping platform that centralizes all product information (reviews, offers, tutorial videos and more) and makes this product information interactively accessible to consumers. Relevant information about products is scattered across the internet. Consumers waste hours jumping between websites to compare prices, read reviews, watch tutorial videos and gather product information to find the best product for them. Current search engines and comparison platforms fail to bring everything together in one place, leaving users frustrated by fragmented data and time-consuming searches. JOSEPHA was founded by Dr. Silvan Weder and Josef Gitterle, who bring together years of experience in AI and commerce.

MANUKAI introduces a software that seamlessly bridges the gap between Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) systems. Their innovative solution automates the translation of CAD models into machine instructions, optimising the manufacturing process. The process begins with CAD model post-processing. They ensure the CAD model is manufacturing-ready by conducting thorough geometry validation and repairing any issues. MANUKAI's algorithms identify manufacturing-specific features like pockets, holes, and complex surfaces, facilitating automatic toolpath generation. Tolerance analysis guarantees compatibility with equipment precision. Part two focuses on toolpath generation and optimisation. Their algorithms create toolpaths based on recognised features, while collision detection mechanisms prevent interference. Optimisation algorithms select toolpaths to minimise cycle time, tool wear, and enhance the machining process. By integrating design and manufacturing seamlessly, MANUKAI's pipeline reduces lead times, enhances quality, and boosts productivity. Their software prioritises interpretability, scalability, and customisation, making it suitable for businesses of all sizes.
