  • Team forming: Throughout the team forming phase of Talent Kick, everyone was looking for teammates with complimentary skills and a common vision. For us, what we have in common is the drive to have an important social impact. Apart from that, we noticed that our communication felt very natural and effortless. Given that we also have complimentary backgrounds, it was easy to see that we would make a great team together.

  • Vision statement: to challenge perspectives and induce equality and diversity within the recruitment process.

  • Biggest Achievement: Apart from forming a strong team, finding an idea that resonates with both of us - which is at the same time innovative and provides a solution to a real worldwide need - has been our biggest achievement so far.

  • Next Step: Designing a conceptual prototype for demonstrating Lumia’s features before going into the next prototyping phase. We are continuing to look for opportunities that will help our startup grow, as well as to earn some funding. In addition, we are currently defining our target market with the needed stakeholders for Lumia to be implemented having a B2B business model. Through these various iteration stages of the prototype and feedback, we expect to have a potential client within the next year!

Lumia is a tool that enables recruiters to see, understand and improve their biases in the hiring process. This is done through CV anonymization and individualised statistics about the tendencies that recruiters have when selecting candidates. The objective is to induce equality and diversity within the application selection.
